Whoever the new moron is attending the front desk at our office had better learn to keep his eyes trained in the proper direction, or one of these days he's going to get more than he bargained for. Ugh, he's an insufferable little cockroach, and I swear, if we weren't so short-staffed and I didn't know that it won't do a damn bit of good, I'd be making formal complaints. I don't know how the little weasel ever got a job in the Ministry to begin with.

I've got six cases on the docket right now, and I barely have time to look over one of them before I get some new demand lately. Of course they're all of the utmost importance, I'm not supposed to prioritize, I'm supposed to deal with them all so the docket can be cleared for another six cases. Not to mention our horrendous backlog, which no one's come anywhere near to making a dent in for months. I'm really tempted to suggest we start using some Muggle police methods, so we can take back some of the blokes who've lost their magic, but I know perfectly well our Department head is a colossal pain, and one of the most tradition-bound idiots you'll ever lay eyes on. Innovation is not in his dictionary.

I, meanwhile, am in vast need of a drink.

Full Name: Schuyler Morgan Fawcett
Nicknames: Sky to some, though most people stick with Schuyler
Age: 22
Birthdate: March 25th
Alumni/House: Ravenclaw
Wand: Cypress, Ramora scale core, 9"
Affiliation: Neutral
Blood Status: Partblood
Magic Status: Full magic
Family: Richard Damien Fawcett (Father; Muggle) - Richard is a serious man, a lawyer by profession, and not very demonstrative. He cares for his daughter, but mostly shows this by providing sound advice and support for her when she needs it. His ex-wife frustrates him to no end, something he tries to hide from Schuyler.

Brigit Alison Quinn (Mother; Witch) - Schuyler takes more after her mother in personality. An opinionated witch, she eloped with Richard soon after finishing school, to the dislike of her family. Unfortunately, they weren't as well suited as she'd hoped, and when the pair divorced, she took her maiden name of Quinn back, though her daughter remained a Fawcett. Schuyler tends to argue quite a bit with her mother, and tiffs will often render them at odds for weeks at a time, but they always make up.

personal history
Childhood-Hogwarts: Schuyler was born in Surrey to Richard and Brigit Fawcett, a Muggle lawyer and a witch of Irish descent. Her parents had been married only a year when she was born, and Schuyler's earliest memories are quite happy. The infatuation that caused her parents to marry took several years to wear off, and they both doted on their daughter at a young age.

Around her sixth year, though, the fighting began. Brigit was a headstrong young woman, and being chained to her husband's sedate lifestyle chafed at her. Richard, however, was determined that his young daughter should have stability. Brigit wanted new experiences, and while seeing the sense of Richard's arguments, still was unhappy and vented by arguing with her husband. Neither parent tried to let their attitude towards Schuyler change, but the girl couldn't help but grow used to arguments and the tendency of each parent to vent a bit about the other.

She attended a Muggle school at her father's insistence, despite showing signs of her magical heritage at the age of eight, until her invitation to Hogwarts arrived. Brigit was triumphant at Schuyler's inclusion into Hogwarts, and insisted she go, sending more than a few jabs at Richard over the deal. Schuyler, of course, was excited and curious to go to this school her mother had spoken of so much, and so Hogwarts won the day.

Schuyler's was sorted into Ravenclaw at Hogwarts, and both her parents wrote her regularly, though always separately. It wasn't much of a surprise when late into her second year at school, her parents divorced; without their daughter there regularly to hold them together, there wasn't much inducement for them to stay together. Schuyler forestalled the custody wars by telling them straight out she'd take turns staying with them; at the age of twelve she was beginning to develop her independence, especially with the lack of a stable family life.

Her school figured much more importantly into her plans than her parents, anyway. Hogwarts was a stable environment, unlike her family household, and Schuyler felt the freedom to develop as she wanted to, instead of trying to please either or both parents, an impossible futility. Her natural curiousity was nurtured in her house and her classes, and she developed quickly into an opinionated young woman, though inheriting her father's turn for logic and debate along with her mother's strong-willed independence.

Her own years at Hogwarts were relatively uneventful. She never got involved with the trouble that her famous underclassman, Harry Potter, seemed to drag himself and his friends into, though she got into more minor incidents of her own. Her own desire to prove herself, for example, ended up her in trying to compete in the Triwizard tournament despite being a few months underage, and like the Weasley twins, she sported a beard for her attempts. Her opinion of Harry Potter grew downright foul at his inclusion in the tournament, and she was a vehement supporter of Cedric the entire way through the tournament. His death shocked her at the end, and she wasn't sure who to believe in the tales that followed.

Her final year at Hogwarts was one of turmoil and confusion. Umbridge's ousting of Dumbledore left the school in chaos, in her opinion, and she had no happy opinion of the woman. Fairly outspoken about it herself, she spent quite a bit of the year in detention, and was tempted by the Weasley twins' flight from the school to do the same. She finished out her school year, however, to please her father, despite her opinion of its uselesness.

Adulthood-Present: She did well enough on her NEWTs, however, to gain a place in the Ministry's Hitwizard program. She had a year of training before the war broke out in earnest. She sided with the Ministry in the affair, helping round up those breaking the law with single-minded determination. As the war progressed, and some of the orders began to grow stranger, she began to have serious doubts about just who was in charge, but had no proof to give, or indeed, anyone to present it to. For the most part she simply did what she could, remaining one of the decent working stiffs in the Ministry, and fortunately of too little consequence to be controlled by the Death Eaters.

The ending of the war was a relief, especially at the revelation of certain Death Eaters in the Ministry. Despite her dislike for Harry and his reputation in his school years, she freely acknowledges and admires his role in ending the war, as well as the Order's. She is of the opinion, however, that the Order has outlived its' usefullness, and would be well-advised to leave the current work to the professionals. She's still a junior Hitwizard, but as more of her coworkers fall to the loss of magic, she's rising in importance, as her own currently remains unaffected. How long this will last, she has no idea, but is thankful for every day it remains so.

personality
Personality Overview: Schuyler is not the easiest person to get along with. Fiercely independent and opinionated, she's certainly not what anyone would call easy-going or even friendly. She's not very polite, saying what she thinks when she thinks it, and silence is very rarely something she practices. Add a sarcastic sense of humor and a biting wit on top of it, and most people prefer not to deal with her, at least at first.

Despite her somewhat tempestuous attitudes, she's not a bad person, simply difficult to get along with. She's extremely loyal to her friends and family, and will defend them to the death if there was need to, and she's very committed to any cause she's pledged herself to. She's not self-interested, and will willingly sacrifice herself and her comfort for others, though expect quite a bit of commentary about it. Though her sense of humor rarely leaves anyone alone, she includes herself in these diatribes, and will poke fun at her own tendencies, though she might gety growly at others who do so too much.

She has a nasty temper on occasion, and can flare at people quite quickly, though it's easy enough to tell when you're starting to piss her off, if you want to avoid continuing to do so. Sensitive people will have quite a nasty time with her, as blunt as she is about everything and everyone, but people who can take her in stride will find a lifelong friend. She most enjoys being around people who like to banter and argue, and some of the people she argues with the most are the people she's actually closest to.

She likes to hide the fact that she has a soft side, and those who know her know they've hit on it when she starts getting rather gruff and changing the subject. She pretends she has no romantic interests, and immerses herself entirely in her work, but she'll drop everything if a friend calls on her, and will listen to them with a sympathetic ear, though you'd better be prepared for advice if you ask her to do so. She's a good person for advice, being very logical and intelligent, but she's not usually very tactful about how she gives it.

Skills: Logic, Offensive and Defensive magic in keeping with a Hitwizard's program, Charms
Strengths: Independent, Strong-willed, Loyal, Intelligent
Weaknesses: Temperamental, Headstrong, Stubborn, Abrasive, Sarcastic
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual

appearance
General Appearance: Schuyler's a little tall for a woman at 5'7", and she keeps herself in good shape through exercise. Her build, therefore, is lightly muscular and a little lacking in feminine curves, though not masculine. She wears her blonde hair a bit past shoulder length, though she often ties it up when working. Despite her good looks, she is very rarely described as pretty, mostly due to her typical expression and stance. A very confident young woman, this is reflected in how she looks out at the world. She can be a bit imposing, especially to shyer people, not bothering to shield her emotions through her expressions, and she often has a very skeptical expression on her face.

PB: Julia Stiles
